Originally from Ireland and now based in Canada, Matthew brings an international perspective and a growing passion for Europe’s mountain landscapes to his role as UTracks’ North America Sales Manager. While he jokes that he “wasted his time” growing up in Europe without fully exploring it, his love for the mountains came later in life - and now there’s no stopping him.

Living in Canada has fuelled Matthew’s appreciation for alpine adventure. During his time in Vancouver he regularly escaped to Whistler for hiking and skiing, before moving to Kelowna to spend multiple ski seasons at Big White. The mountains have since become his natural playground, and Europe’s iconic ranges are firmly on his radar.

Having travelled through Spain, the UK, Wales, Portugal, France, Belgium, Turkey and Greece, Matthew is now keen to experience Europe more actively. The Dolomites remain his dream destination, with Pico de Europa and Mont Blanc also high on his list. Ticking off a section of the Camino is another goal he’s determined to achieve in the near future.

Outside of the mountains, Matthew’s competitive streak comes out on the volleyball court - a passion that recently has him heading to Spain. Whether it’s hiking, skiing or sport, he understands the draw of travelling with purpose and is passionate about helping North American travellers discover Europe on foot or by bike in a way that feels both achievable and inspiring.
