NEW: UTracks' Golf Walking Tours

It's believed Mark Twain once said 'Golf is a good walk spoiled'. Well, it's now 2026 and these old fashioned views no longer need to be adhered to! In fact, we'd argue Mr Twain was looking at this all wrong. A good walk isn't spoiled by golf. A good walk is completed by golf.

Since 2007, the UTracks team has constantly looked to be at the forefront of active travel in Europe. Our mandate is simple: we want you to explore Europe your way. That philosophy has led us to over 500 itineraries across more than 40 nations. You can travel by barge, by bike, by yacht, by foot. We've always gone the extra mile, and now, we're going the extra fairway.

Introducing UTracks' Golf Walking Tours

We've taken Europe's most iconic walking trails and asked ourselves a simple question: could this be improved with a nine iron? Unanimously, the answer was yes.

You can choose from a collection of fore itineraries.

1. Chamonix Open

Tee off in the shadow of Mont Blanc and play your way through the dramatic valleys of the French Alps. Par for the course: spectacular. Hazards: mainly marmots and the odd glacial crevasse. We recommend a long iron for the Col de Balme.

2. Rota Vicentina

Portugal's wild Atlantic coastline was practically made for links golf as the wind alone will add four shots to your scorecard. Use a sand wedge along the clifftops, keep an eye on the tides, and try not to lose too many balls to the Atlantic Ocean. We accept no liability for balls lost to the Atlantic Ocean.

3.The Camino de Santiago Classic

Putt your way across 800 kilometres of Spanish countryside to the iconic cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. Fellow pilgrims have been walking this route for centuries in search of meaning and spiritual enlightenment. You'll be doing it in search of birdie.

4. The Coast to Coast Cup

Alfred Wainwright's legendary 192-mile route from St Bees on the Irish Sea to Robin Hood's Bay on the North Sea is one of England's great long-distance walks. Tradition dictates that you dip your boot in the sea at the start, and again at the finish. We have modernised this ritual for 2026. You will dunk a golf ball. Both ends. It is what Wainwright would have wanted.

I do NOT want to walk any camino or hike if people are hitting golf balls along it. Are you serious or is this a joke and you play on a golf course near the camino or walking track?

Many people are saying, smart people, the best people, that UTracks is getting into golf. Incredible. Nobody does golf like I do, everybody knows that. I’ve seen courses all over the world, tremendous courses, but Mont Blanc? Very high, very classy, very cold, maybe too cold, but we’ll make it work.
I’d be very interested in joining one of these tours, maybe improving it a little bit, because frankly, it probably needs it. And I have to ask, has anyone considered putting the name “Trump” on one of the holes? Or perhaps the whole course? “Trump Mont Blanc” - has a beautiful ring to it, really does.
People would come from everywhere. It would be huge. Let me know, UTracks. We could do something very special, believe me.
