Dana joined UTracks after several years away from the travel industry working in fields that she didn’t love nearly as much.Interested in exploring new places, she was drawn back to the world of active travel and has since enjoyed helping travellers discover Europe on foot and by bike.

She has travelled extensively throughout Europe and has also lived and travelled across Asia and the Middle East. Her adventures have taken her further afield to the Pacific islands, New Zealand, the Caribbean and the United States. Despite the global experiences, Europe remains her favourite destination – perhaps unsurprising given her background studying art history and working for a wine importer.

Through her time with UTracks, Dana has experienced many of the company’s classic active journeys. Highlights include walking around Mont Blanc, exploring sections of the Camino in Spain and Portugal, cycling through Austria from the mountains toward Salzburg and along the Danube, and bike & barge journeys along the Po from Venice to Mantova, the Rhine from Mainz to Strasbourg, and through the waterways of the Netherlands.

Switzerland is another favourite destination thanks to its dramatic alpine landscapes and exceptional walking trails. Dana particularly enjoys trips that combine activity with a relaxed pace, which is why bike & boat journeys rank highly on her list – allowing travellers to unpack once, explore each day at their own pace, and enjoy the comforts of the vessel each evening.

As a frequent solo traveller, Dana also appreciates trips that naturally bring people together. Experiences such as the Camino and bike & boat journeys are especially rewarding for solo travellers, offering both independence and the chance to connect with fellow travellers along the way.
